The Wakefield Lady Trojan volleyball team traveled to south central Nebraska last week to take on the Cross County Cougars in the C2-3 Nebraska State Activities Association’s 2022 District finals.

“This team fought hard and pushed each other since day one to get us to that district final game against Cross County” said coach Brittany Eisenmann. “Although the end to our season wasn’t quite what we had hoped, we couldn’t be more proud of what these girls have accomplished throughout the season. ‘

On the season as a whole Eisenmann had this to say about her team. “We saw so much growth in individuals throughout the season which in turn improved our team play. As much as we have improved, we know that it will only get better from here. With a heartbreaking loss in district finals this year, we hope to return next fall with a fire burning us throughout the season, eager to punch that state ticket. I am so very proud of the girls this year and I am very excited to see what the future holds for this team.”
She also commented about departing seniors Alex Arenas, MaKenna Decker Kasey Sullivan, and Brianna Martinez. “To our seniors, Alex, Makenna, Brianna and Kasey - you will be dearly missed and I will forever be proud of how hard you girls work and the love you have for your team and for volleyball. “
