16th Annual Hermie Belt Memorial Golf Tounament held

The 16th Annual “Hermie Belt” Memorial Golf Tournament was held on July 16th at Logan Valley Golf Course in Wakefield.
During the 16 year period, Rachel Belt and her family have hosted this golf tournament which includes 26 hole sponsors and attracts approximately 130 golfers from a multi-state area.
The monies raised through the tournament have memorialized Hermie Belt with donations to the American Cancer Society, ‘Welcome to Emerson’ signs and the Veteran’s Memorial at the entrance to the Emerson Cemeteries.
Over the last three years, the tournament proceeds have grown to $30,000 and were recently donated to the Emerson Veterans Memorial Park Committee.
The Belt family has long had the desire to honor Hermie’s military service, plus other area Veterans by recognizing them with a Veterans Memorial in Emerson.
The village of Emerson would like to say thank you to the family of Hermie Belt for their generous donation to the Emerson Veterans Memorial.
