Emerson-Hubbard High School held graduation ceremonies on Sunday, June 21 in the high school gym at Emerson.
A dozen graduates received diplomas during the ceremony.Commencement began with “Pomp and Circumstance” before Emerson-Hubbard School Board president, Cherie Conley welcomed the crowd.
High school principal, Dustin Nielsen introduced the speakers on the program.
Commencement addresses were given by the Salutatorian and the Valedictorian.
Nielsen then presented the honors and awards for the graduating class and superintendent, Lindsey Baudette presented the class for graduation.
Conley presented the diplomas to the graduates then the class song, “We run this Town” by Luke Bryan was performed.
The Salutatorian was Raegan Reifenrath, daughter of Justin and Corrine Reifenrath.
The Valedictorian was Isabella Parker-Diaz, daughter of Lazaro Diaz and Tracy Diaz.
The graduates received many awards and scholarships during the ceremony.
Katelyn Ahlers - Katie earned a volleyball letter and is an honor
graduate. She has received an EH FFA scholarship, the Albin Svoboda Scholarship, the John W. & Elaine Service Memorial Scholarship and Gutzmann Thrivent Choice Dollars Scholarship. She will be attending Northeast Community College to become a veterinarian.
Nolan Belt - Nolan earned letters in football, basketball, track and band and is an honor graduate. In football, Nolan was named All-District First Team, All-State Honorable Mention, Offensive MVP and recipient of the Roger Dose Memorial Most Valuable Football Player Award. In basketball, Nolan was named All-State Honorable Mention, Norfolk Daily News Elite Eight Third Team, All-Conference Honorable Mention and recipient of the Offensive Player, All Around Player and Jeff Beacom Memorial MVP Awards. Nolan has received an EH Student Council Scholarship, J & B Fillipi Memorial Scholarship, New-to-You Youth Fund Scholarship, Jeff Beacom Memorial Scholarship, E-H Booster Club Scholarship, E-H Club Scholarship, E-H National Honor Society Scholarship, E-H Junior Class Parent Scholarship, and Emerson
Betterment Committee Scholarship and the R. McEntaffer American Legion Post #60 Scholarship. Nolan also received a Wayne State College Dean’s Commitment Scholarship and an athletic scholarship to play baseball. He will be attending Wayne State College.
Madison Gunderson - Madison earned letters in volleyball, basketball, choir and band and is
an honor graduate. She was a member of the Wayne State College Women’s Honor Choir. Madison received a Emerson Volunteer Fireman’s scholarship, J & B Fillipi Memorial Scholarship, E-H National Honor Society Scholarship and E-H Junior Class Parent Scholarship. She will be attending Wayne State College.
Clara Harvey - Clara placed 3rd in the category of sculpture in the Lewis & Clark Conference Art Show and has received the Kathy McGowen Scholarship and the Emerson Volunteer Fireman’s Scholarship. She will be attending Wayne State College to pursue a degree in Criminal Justice.
Torchua Russell Lee - Torchua earned letters in one-act and band. He was a member of the Lewis & Clark Conference Honor Band and earned Lewis & Clark Conference Honorable Mention honors in one-act. Torchua is a recipient of an E-H Junior Class Parent Scholarship and will be attending Wayne State College pursuing a degree in graphic design.
Ryleigh Liewer - Ryleigh will be pursuing a career as a truck driver.
Addison Mackling - Addison earned letters in volleyball, basketball and band. In volleyball, she earned the Defensive Player Award and in basketball, was named All-conference honorable
mention and received the AllAround Player and MVP Awards. She placed 3rd in the category of sculpture in the Lewis & Clark Conference Art Show. Addison has received an E-H Student Council Scholarship and R. McEntaffer American Legion Auxiliary Post #60 Scholarship. She will be attending Northeast Community College.
Isabella Parker-Diaz - Isabella earned a Lewis & Clark Conference Principal Award, was a member of KCAU-TV’s “Best of Class” and is an honor graduate. She earned letters in volleyball, basketball, band and choir. In volleyball, Isabella was named
All-Conference Honorable Mention and earned the Offensive Player and MVP Awards. She was a member of the Lewis & Clark Conference Honor Band and Choir. In annual, she received the “Going Above and Beyond” Yearbook Award. Isabella has received a Jeff Beacom Memorial Scholarship, E-H National Honor Society Scholarship, Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation
Scholarship, R. McEntaffer American Legion Auxiliary Post #60 Scholarship, E-H Student Council Scholarship, E-H Education Association Scholarship, the Trenhaile
Thrivent Choice Dollars Scholarship, the 1st State Bank Scholarship. She is also a recipient of a
Wayne State College Dean’s Scholarship. She will be attending Wayne State College majoring in secondary education with an endorsement in mathematics.
Raegan Reifenrath - Raegan earned a Lewis & Clark Conference Principal Award and is an
honor graduate. She earned letters in volleyball, choir, one-act and speech. Raegan was a member of the Wayne State College Honor Choir and placed at the Logan View, Wynot and Conference meets. She has received a Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation Scholarship, E-H Education Association Scholarship, Heritage of Emerson Scholarship, E-H National Honor Society Scholarship, E-H Club Scholarship, the E-H Education Enhancement, Inc. & Bob Clough Scholarship, Mary K. Albrecht Memorial Scholarship, Irma Svoboda Citizenship Award, Pete & Rosa Hassler Scholarship, Emerson Betterment Committee Scholarship and Fay & Bonnie (DeGraff ) Warren Scholarship. She also received a Wayne State College Neihardt Scholarship. She will be attending Wayne State College to pursue a degree in psychology before continuing on to become a pastor.
Hunter Schock - Hunter earned letters in football, basketball, baseball and band. He has received a Heritage of Emerson Scholarship, New-to-You Youth Fund Scholarship, E-H Booster Club Scholarship, E-H Junior Class Parent Scholarship, the Evelyn Kruger Scholarship, Magnolia Lodge #220 Scholarship, Emerson Betterment Committee
Scholarship and the Titan Machinery Service Technician Scholarship. He will be attending
Northeast Community College to pursue a career as a Diesel Mechanic.
Tyler Stark - Tyler earned letters in football, basketball, track and band. He has received the
Robert Clough Memorial Scholarship and an E-H Junior Class Parent Scholarship. He will be attending Wayne State College to pursue a degree in Criminal Justice.
Drake Steele - Drake earned a letter in football. He will be attending Wayne State College and major in business
