Wakefield Legion Post 81 held their annual Memorial Day program to honor the fallen heroes of Wakefield on Monday, May 27th, at 2:00 p.m. at the Wakefield Cemetery.
Jim Clark began the program with the pledge of allegiance before Pastor Jill Craig of Covenant Church lead the assembled crowd in a prayer. Clark was also this year’s speaker, talking about three of Wakefield’s soldiers missing in action, John Paul Hart, Allen Keagle, and Willie Stark.
The reading of Wakefield’s fallen followed with the duties being split between Clark and Jon Geiser. The program was then concluded with honoring the fallen with a salute from Legion Post 81 and taps being played.
