Emerson-Hubbards class of 2024

Emerson-Hubbard Schools held their commencement ceremony for the class of 2024 on Saturday, May 11th in the main gym of the school. The 9th through 12th grade band began the ceremony with “Pomp and Circumstance” before Brianna Novak gave the graduation welcome. The band then played “Celtic Air and Dance.”

Principal Chris Blohm then introduced the speakers for the ceremony before Emerson-Hubbard’s salutatorian Codi Olson gave her address. Codi was then followed by the Valedictory address given by Rhyanne Mackling.

Guidance Counselor Sandy Ahelers then presented honors and scholarships, which were as follows as well as each students plans after graduation:

Levi Beermann: Plans on pursuing an apprenticeship position in heating and air conditioning.

Calie Cockburn: Will be attending University of Nebraska in Lincoln to study agricultural leadership, education, and communications.

Hunter Heikes: He was awarded the Magnolia Lodge #220 Scholarship, The E-H FFA Chapter Scholarship, and the Chase Miller FFA Memorial Scholarship. He will attend Northeast Community College to study agronomy.

McKale Houfek: He will attend Northeast Community College to study diesel technology.

Rhyanne Mackling: She was awarded the E-H Student Council Scholarship, Nebraska Wesleyan Board of Governors Scholarship. She will be attending Nebraska Wesleyan University to major in political science.

Marquise Moniz: He will attend Western Iowa Tech Community College where he plans to study video game design.

Brianna Novak: She received the Emerson Volunteer Fire Department Scholarship, Pete and Rosa Hassler Scholarship, and the E-H Student Council Scholarship. She will be attending Northeast Community College to study nursing.

KayLynn Novak: She received the Emerson Volunteer Fire Department Scholarship, Kathy McGowen Scholarship, and the E-H Student Council Scholarship. She plants to study nursing at Northeast Community College.

Trae Odom: Plans on entering the workforce.

Codi Olson: She was awarded the Magnolia Lodge #220 Scholarship, E-H FFA Chapter Scholarship. She will be attending Colorado Christian University to study energy engineering.

Mary Roberts: Plans on pursuing a cosmetology degree at the College of Hair Design in Lincoln.

Adyson Vraspir: Will pursue a career as a tattoo artist.

Then there was the presentation of class by Superintendent Dale Martin. Board of Education President Joani Franzluebbers then presented the class of 2024 their diplomas before Superintendent Martin made the announcement of graduation.

The procession of the graduating class as the ceremony wrapped up was “I Live” by OneRepublic.
