Wakefield Progressive to host its third WakeFIELD Party this Saturday, June 3rd, at Graves Park. Gates open at 4 p.m. and the event boasts four full bands, food vendors, and philanthropy.
Wakefield Progressive has partnered with the Dixon County Sheriff’s Department this year to raise money for new equipment. The Department is currently fundraising for a new drone, and Wakefield Progressive will donate a portion of the sales to help support their efforts.
“We will be looking for other organizations/groups/causes to partner with for future Party’s,” said founder of Wakefield Progressive, Megan Weaver, placing a new purpose on the annual event. The events are a chance to gather and celebrate, but now also provide the opportunity to support community members and organizations, said Weaver.
Country music singer, Isaac Cole, will be the opening act at the Party around 5:30 p.m.
Cole played guitar for Dolly Parton at a media event, had a successful run on American Idol at the age of 15, and was a full-time utility musician.
Nebraska artist, Rascal Martinez will perform next. Martinez channels a mix of Indie-rock and Americana, providing a unique sound.
Returning to Wakefield, Baker Grissom is next on the lineup. He performed as an acoustic act last year and will be playing with a full band at this performance.
Closing act, Josh Kiser will end the night. Kiser’s most popular song “Big on Little Things” has over 7.5 million downloads on Spotify.
“All four artists are going to be fun to watch! The crowd better be prepared to be on their feet because these guys are going to bring their A-game!” said Weaver.
Food vendors include JD Squared, Crazy Jacks, with a potential “surprise” vendor, and tacos for sale as well. For those 21 and over, the Party will have a beer tent with a variety of adult beverages including the special “Party Punch.”

“This is a great event for Wakefield but it wouldn't be possible without the support of our sponsors and the Wakefield Progressive board. We look forward to a great night of music and fun in Graves Park!” said Weaver.
