The Wakefield High School Track Team earned five first place finishes at the West Point Track and Field Meet last week.
Jordan Metzler led the Trojans with a team-high two first-place finishes. She won the girls’ 300-meter Hurdles and the 100-meter Dash.
Three boys each had a first-place finish. Cael Johnson was first across the finish line in the boys’ 300 Hurdles, while Cade Johnson was first in the 800-meter Race and Ryan Anderson was first in the 1,600-meter Race.
Cade Johnson, Cael Johnson, Mason Lamprecht and Jacob Borg teamed up for a second-place finish in the 4x400-meter Relay.
Cael Johnson also had a third-place showing in the 110-meter Hurdles. Anderson was a third-place finisher in the 3,200-meter Race and Cade Johnson was third in the Long Jump. Gael Sotello placed third in the High Jump competition.
Cael Johnson earned sixth place in the Triple Jump, while Sam Chase, Jack Schlickbernd, Ruben Vega and Erwin Najar teamed up for sixth-place in the 4x800-meter Relay.
Gael Johnson placed seventh in the Long Jump and Timothy Kaufman finished just behind him in eighth place.
In the girls’ competition, Daveigh Munter-McAfee earned a third-place finish in the 100-meter Hurdles with Katie Borg just behind her in fourth place and Ashlyn Reiwer not far behind her in sixth.
Sierra Kaufman, Alex Arenas, Gracyn Keagle and Metzler earned a fourth-place finish in the 4x400-meter Relay and Borg, Keagle, Reiwer and Kaufman had a sixth-place showing in the 4x100 relay.
Riewer placed eighth in the 100 High Jump. Arenas was eighth in the 400-meter Race and eighth in the Triple Jump.
