FCA, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, held its annual Fall Opener at the Bandshell Park Sunday evening with FCA members and families in attendance.
Corbin Kment grilled up some great burgers that were enjoyed. Each family furnished a side dish and a dessert to add to the meal.
Karter Lingenfelter gave the welcome and explained a little about what happens at a Plainview Huddle, the 5 Ws. Ty Diedrichsen led in prayer.
Travis Emory, from Pierce, shared his experiences in FCA. He began with a bit of history of FCA that started is 1954. The mission of FCA is “To make disciples through our strategy of engaging, equipping and empowering coaches and athletes to know and grow in Christ and lead others to do the same.”
Travis shared how he got involved in FCA and the difference it made in his life. He spoke of his positive experiences at “Weekend of Champions” and other camps. He told of Pierce’s Wednesday night huddles and their community services. Travis also encouraged the students present to attend huddles and camps to help in their spiritual growth.
The first FCA Huddle for the Plainview students was Thursday, August 15th, at 7:15 am in the Distance Learning Room. All senior high students are welcome to attend.
