Thirteen members of the Crofton FFA chapter went to Indianapolis, Indiana, for the National FFA convention on Oct. 25-29. There were many things that the FFA members got to do, and they had fun. There was a concert by Mickey Guyton that some students got to go to. Students were able to attend many workshops and speakers to learn about being a leader and how to serve others.
The FFA members were also able to attend dances so they could hang out with friends and meet new ones.
One day the students went to Louisville, Kentucky. They got to see many historic things including the Louisville Slugger Factory and Churchill Downs. During that excursion, Crofton students recognized a lot of Bloomfield students on the same tour.
Freshman Lauren Loecker stated, “This year there were 150,000 people in FFA which is a record.” Freshman Ellie Foxhoven stated, “I learned more about agriculture and FFA.” Foxhoven also stated, “You get to see and meet a lot of people and you get to experience fun things.”
Attending the National FFA Convention is a yearly tradition for Crofton FFA members. Loecker said, “I highly recommend National FFA because it is an amazing learning opportunity and you get to meet lots of new people."
