As part of the Crofton Congregational Church’s 115th Anniversary celebration - “Remembering the past- Celebrating the present- Looking to the future,” everyone has been invited to attend the “Walk Like a Christian” fun-filled event at the Weigand Recreation Area shelter house on Saturday, August 20, 2022 beginning at 9:00 am.
Activities for all ages are being planned with lunch served by the Crofton Senior Center.
Several local presenters will share stories and re-enactments of the history of Knox County, including the early Crofton Congregational church, the Weigand family, Gavins Point, and Lewis and Clark, as well as nature and wildlife presentations with scavenger hunts and a pelt display.
A “Praise and worship hymn sing-along” and frontier costume photo-op area will add to the festivities.

9:10 – Presentation: Birds, Butterflies, Dragonflies
9:30 – Scavenger Hunt BINGO handouts and instructions
9:45 – Presentation: Shannon Trail along with Lewis and Clark Expedition stories
10:00 –Re-enactment: History of Weigand Area Pioneers
10:20 – Crofton Congregational Church Corner Stone History Re-enactment
10:30 – Presentation: Gavins Point Dam, Lewis & Clark Lake Area, and other Local History
11:00 – Lunch served by Crofton Senior Center
