Last weekend the Crofton/Bloomfield Youth Wrestling team competed in the Nebraska USA District 3 wrestling tournament in O’Neill.
There were 726 wrestlers in the district competing for the chance to qualify for the NEUSA State Championships, in Grand Island, on March 15th and 16th. Only the top 4 placers, in each weight class qualify for the state tournament. I can’t begin to express how proud we are as coaches of the kids this weekend.
We may not have achieved all of the results we were hoping for, but the kids wrestled the best they have all season, and we couldn’t be happier with how they represented the team and the communities.
Win or lose they were all great sports and very respectful of their fellow competitors. Wrestling is a long, emotionally, and physically demanding sport that takes a lot of time, lots of miles, and is expensive, so thank you to every wrestler, parent, and supporter. We could not continue to grow this sport without the support of everyone, and we truly thank you.
